Viral Outbreak

As you may or may not know, on August 31st, 2009 an viral outbreak of as of yet unknown origin began near Colorado Springs, Colorado.  The virus is spread thru direct contact with infected tissue. Either a bite from an infected individual or infection by infected blood can infect even the healthiest person.  The course of infection varies from case-to-case.  Generally the minimal infection cases can take between twenty-four and thirty-six hours to become fatal.  High infection cases can prove fatal in as little as six hours.

Signs of Infection

  • Upon initial infection, patients will exhibit fever, swelling, redness, and numbness at the wound site.
  •  As infection spreads, the fever will rise and numbness and redness will spread away from the wound site.
  • Prior to expiration, the patient will become paranoid, withdraw from human contact, particularly armed humans, and begin vomiting.
  • Spasms and seizures begin to onset after vomiting, lasting generally one to three minutes, ending in the death of the infected patient and their subsequent reanimation.
